John DONALD was the daughter of James DONALD and Jennie Jane MCCORKLE. He was the grandson of Matthew DONALD and Elizabeth LYLE who are members of families that originally settled in Rockbridge, Virginia
John was married to Nancy MATCHETT in 1836. Nancy MATCHETT died in 1854, and John was remarried to Nancy MOSES
I have been able to piece together a lot of the DONALD and LYLE family tree from a book published in 1912 about the LYLE's in early Virginia.

I also do not have a direct source for his parents wedding date.
