Gilbert McClung GILLESPIE is born in Lexington, Virginia, son of Wyatt Paul GILLESPIE and Laura Cecile DONALD.
I am not aware that his first name has any significance, but his middle name is the name of the doctor that delivered him; that was the thing to do back then.
He was their youngest son, and the seventh of eight children.
Wyatt and Laura were living at 108 Houston Street, where they have lived since the purchased the house for $400 in November of 1907.
He retired from Lees Carpet, a division of Burlington Industries, Inc. in 1977
